The Blue Oyster is a small and cosy family-run hotel, directly adjacent to the beautiful white sandy beaches of Zanzibar. We are situated in Jambiani, a small traditional fishing village on the Southeast Coast of the island. Since the 2025 season, our guests can also enjoy our brand-new swimming pool – made possible thanks to the improved water situation in the village . As a responsible tourism certified hotel, we are deeply committed to working hand in hand with our local community and protecting natural resources – values that also made this new addition possible.

Our Story
The German owner, Klaus Beiser, opened the hotel on December 26th, 1999. Ever since this day, we have been constantly improving our hotel to offer the best services and comfort possible.
Now managed by the second generation of family Beiser along with a team of highly motivated employees consisting of locals from the surrounding village of Jambiani and Tanzania.
Blue Oyster Hotel aims at providing an unforgettable holiday experience. We are currently offering 18 rooms, either classic sea view rooms with stunning views of the Indian Ocean or budget-option garden view rooms.

The Blue Oyster Hotel is a small family-run hotel with a personal atmosphere. Our team will make your stay feel like a home away from home. Sustainability is a high priority in our daily operations, and we strive to reduce the environmental, social and economic impact caused by tourism. While we have consciously decided not to offer air conditioning, we are happy to now provide a swimming pool, made possible by the improved local water supply and developed in line with our eco-conscious philosophy. With this concept in mind, we are proud to welcome many returning guests each year.
